19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to push for a final set.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
